I remember we huddled
I remember the maxim:
Draw the attacks and hide in the tunnel

And I lost where I come from

Buzzing under the eyes
Editorializing all in a low drone

When the veil is thin
You can jump right in
You can drop your guard
Take it on the chin
Well I know it’s hard
Living on the fringe
But pick a card, any card
And the trick begins

And I’m marching with a tin drum
I am only a symptom
I am one of a billion
With a brutal scrawl on the cavern wall
Of the beast we split from

I remember what formed you

And the exact shape that you were born to
