Paper Flowers from Becomes Music by Socool

After releasing her cover version of Radiohead's 'Blow Out,' Socool unveils her new EP 'Becomes Music' on Bathurst, a beautiful and charming ambient downtempo affair.

With 'Coast' Socool soundtracked her feeling when watching a beautiful sunset. Long sounding synth chords are opening the song, giving it its vast feeling and endlessness and as soon as the drums and the piano come in, the listener is drowning in golden sunlight.

Originally written with fairly heavy drums but eventually turning into an ambient piece, 'Paper Flowers' opens with some beautifully played piano figures on a bed of synth chords that carry the song's lightness over the course.

'Willow' draws inspiration from the sensation of lying under a willow tree on a picnic blanket, looking up to the sky and hearing the rustling sounds of the leaves in the gentle breeze. With an expansive sound on Willow, Socool explores this feeling with comforting pianos, subtle percussive elements, and a quirky melodic synth line towards the end.

With a most gentle opening, 'Turn Around' closes 'Becomes Music' with airy synth chords over beautiful little piano melodies and its hopeful feeling.
