County Matrix by Landon George

Humans are obsessed with rules, laws, and boundaries. By adhering to these, a path is formed that ensures some form of consistency, yet many are unhappy with this mundane. Our human obsession reaches outward into the natural world, yearning to grid and name everything we touch. While order is natural, so is chaos. Both need each other to survive, and in chaos, we find order; in order, a chaos brews.

In County Matrix, I have chose to explore the relationship between chaos and order through tone, color, timbre, rhythm, and harmony. The architecture of these pieces was achieved through the sequencing of acoustic bass and an electric guitar, preformed in real time. This layering of circular motion and complete freedom brought me to a place where time shifted a hair, and I could peek into the extraordinary.
