Part 2 by Spirit Temple

Part 2 was featured on The Metal Observer alongside five other albums as album of the month for March. The following is quoted from the article:

Surprises come in all shapes and sizes, and Spirit Temple is shaped like a half hour EP of nerdy doomy shit. Inspired by games like Skyrim and Dungeons & Dragons, you don’t need to care about any of that to extract the dark ore of this basement crawl, which is by turns atmospheric, funereal, and ambient, even including a healthy orchestral supplement. Connoisseurs of slow stuff will be in their element as Spirit Temple moves through all kinds of gloomy landscapes, always with a mysterious quest in view. Spirit Temple: Part 2

Wonderful mixes of funeral doom, ambient black metal and orchestral death metal. The album is fantasy based on the Skyrim video game series. But don't let that stop you from listening, this album is taken very seriously and full of passion for the musical genres. It's gorgeous and plodding, just the way you expect from funeral doom. The vocals are absolutely viciously deep and cavernous. Instrumentation is delicious sounding, absolutely incredible.

I was absolutely blown away by the craft of this album, but my expectations were changed when I heard the opening notes. It's unlike anything I have heard in a fantasy genre based on a game series. You really feel like you're part of that world, absolutely wonderful doom metal!!
