You only see through a clouded glass: looking at yourself.

The shadow you are walking through

Illusions built from smoke and dust:
A mask you try to sell.

Vanity cracks your fragile soul. You try to see yourself.
The mirror mocks your fractured glare. You do not know yourself.

Repeating someone else's words:
Another masquerade.
A promise broken is a lie,
Today as yesterday.

You try to tell me who I am but you don't know yourself.
You try to tell the hardest truths but you lie to yourself.
