On May 23rd Los Angeles-based musician Brittany Macc, known under her solo alias Take My Lungs, released her emotionally introspective EP: "mutter" on LA platform: New Earth Sound.
Across two tracks, the sonic palette bridges ambient synth textures, pulsing electronica rhythms, and raw spoken word, exploring what it means to feel suspended between creative movement and stagnant inertia.
Originally from Upstate New York, Macc has toured for over a decade behind the kit, but as the live music landscape faces ongoing uncertainty, she turns inward. Her new EP mutter, captures the emotional tension of that space between creative drive and the daily grind of work that doesn’t align with her passion.
When speaking about the project, Macc says: “When things slow down, I dive into making music. It’s my way of coping from reality and finding purpose in the quiet moments.”
