Thule BASIC from <Qocheedy Daiin> by The Far Stairs

Polybius, in his Histories (c. 140 B.C.), Book XXXIV, cites Pytheas as one “who has led many people into error by saying that he traversed the whole of Britain on foot, giving the island a circumference of forty thousand stades, and telling us also about Thule, those regions in which there was no longer any proper land nor sea nor air, but a sort of mixture of all three of the consistency of a jellyfish in which one can neither walk nor sail, holding everything together, so to speak.”

Poe wrote:

By a route obscure and lonely,
Haunted by ill angels only,
Where an Eidolon, named Night,
On a black throne reigns upright,
I have reached these lands but newly
From an ultimate dim Thule –
From a wild weird clime, that lieth, sublime,
Out of Space – out of Time.

The people of Thule were variously rumored to be dwarves or blue-painted giants who rode in scythe-bearing chariots. Wilhelm Dahm wrote: “A race of giant supermen lived in Thule, linked into the Cosmos through magical powers. They had psychic and technological energies far exceeding the technical achievements of the 20th Century.”

It is agreed among scholars that the Thuleans developed a kind of verbal programming language, the use of which could affect reality itself. Pytheas' reference to a land where all the elements are mixed together is taken to mean that the inhabitants of Thule had found the underlying pattern of the world and that they could alter it at will by speaking the right words or chants.

It is not known what happened to Thule.
