Orcadia by The Knowe O'Deil

Recorded in 1986 this album featured a classic Knowe O'Deil Band lineup. 14 songs and tunes all with a strong Orcadian theme running right down the middle! This transcription from newly discovered virgin vinyl comes in response to the many people who have been asking for things from Ivan's back catalogue all of which are now difficult to find even in cassette format.

The Knowe O'Deil Band hail from Orkney. As well as Ivan Drever its members had been playing for many years in pub sessions in and around Orkney before forming the group. The band has seen many talented Orcadian members come and go. It has been said that the band was responsible for a revival of the tradition in Orkney.
