This song, like so many others before it, is about documenting history; it’s about resistance, and protest, and revolution; it’s about *feeling* something.

That said: I am personally appalled by the actions (and in some cases ‘inaction’) of all factions of governments, military entities, ‘royal’ families, from oligarchs to autocracies; the horrendous harm and trauma and cancerous despair that is being left in the wake of this Gaza ‘war.’

In that spirit: This song was inspired by Paul Hardcastle’s song “19” - an 80s electronic synthpop track that protested the Vietnam war. Where 19 was the average age of the American soldier who was sent to their death, the ages most represented among the dead in Gaza (during the first 6 months) were *5 to 9 year-olds*. In other words: “The most frequent age of the people being killed in Gaza are below 9 years old.”

If that previous statement shocks you: Then you, like me, are a human being that gives a damn; someone who is appalled by these statistics; is appalled by wicked narratives being formed to justify it. Everything that is being done: the bombing, the shooting, the starving, the torturing, the raping, the dehumanization, the occupation: it’s not just a tragedy, it is a complete and utter failure. This song is a call to recognize this; a call to end this atrocity..
