FaeNomina by Thoth and Lila'Angelique

"FaeNomina" is a 17-track album recorded over two days in the summer of 2021 at our friend Nate Salman's house (Castle in the Sky). The album is completely improvised and recorded in one take. Our music is created spontaneously in the moment. No part of it was rehearsed or planned out in advance. The album cover is an original painting by Lila'Angelique called "A Shadow Over the Crystal City" created in 2024 in Ubud, Bali.

We recorded this music spontaneously after visiting our friend Nate at his home in the Oakland Hills for the first time in the summer of 2021. At that point, we had been prayforming in a tunnel in Golden Gate Park for a year and a half 5 days a week. Nate had seen us prayforming at the tunnel one night and said it made him cry. He followed us on our Instagram page and we got connected once I realized he was a musician as well. He invited us to his home studio and set up mics to record us, and this is the result.

This music stayed on a hard drive for 4 years before I even thought of taking it out and listening to it. After recording the music in 2021, it felt so raw and real that I couldn't listen to it. We were also so focused on our 5 nights per week prayformance schedule at the tunnel I didn't have the time to listen to it, let alone take the time to organize it to share with people. After listening to it, I am amazed at how beautiful the music is and am proud to share it with you here.

In the first 11 pieces, Thoth plays violin and I sing. This created a beautiful opportunity for me to feel supported by his playing, and he is an amazing accompanist as a violinist. in the final 6 pieces, we sing together and create magical harmonies. I hope you enjoy as much as I do.
