Trippo Marx: guitars vocals piano synths drums bass mandolin percussion
FIVE STRING GUITAR was recorded directly to cassette in 1988 using a pair of 1970's style headphones as a microphone.
POMPADOUR, NORMAN, LIBERTY HILL & PRALINE PSYCHOSIS were my first attempts at four track recording in August 1989 using just guitar and voices, often improvised.
The material comprising the two versions of TENNIS EYEBALL was recorded in 1990; the second version is a remix using bits and pieces of the original four track tape trimmed from the first version thrown in for flavor.
The material comprising TUBULAR SMELLS was recorded over Labor Day weekend 1990 as an extreme exercise in using four tracks to capture as many instruments and voices as possible; this 2019 mix distills the utter chaos of the original tape into a more episodic tour of a great and terrible musical mire.
The double speed guitar improvisation HALLUCINATING DOBROS was recorded on a microcassette recorder in late 1990 or early 1991.
DJANGO'S MISSING DIGITS employs tuned glasses of water as percussion and was recorded in December 1992.
