Uncle rob
Uncle rob
It may not be by blood
But you are still my Uncle rob
Uncle Rob
Uncle Rob
Ah!
Now you may know the story or you may not
But when we slid off that highway and rolled down into the ditch and crawled out of that van of ours.
Well,
We may have been in Colorado but we may well have been in the middle of the ocean
because we had no idea what to do or where to go but I'll tell you this.
My Uncle Rob and yes I said my Uncle Rob drove not one, not two but three hours through icy roads in mountain passes in weather conditions that would bring fear to any reasonable person
(and earlier in our case the total destruction of our plans and vehicle)
but nonetheless,
my Uncle Rob and I do mean my Uncle Rob,
not by blood but indeed my uncle rob
drove all the way through God knows what to pick us up from the one road in the smallest of small towns and despite the encompassing treachery of the circumstances I couldn't help but smile when I saw his familiar face.
And I took a moment from loading our lives off the tow truck and gave him the firmest of hugs and said
"It's good to see you Uncle Rob”
Uncle rob,
Uncle rob
Ever since I've known you
You have been my Uncle Rob
Uncle Rob
Uncle Rob
Ah!
Now then,
Shortly after my Uncle Rob showed up at that parking lot off of the one street in that small small town in Colorado after driving through all that bad weather to come and get us and such,
Well,
we started unpacking the contents of the van from the back of the tow truck and packing it back into his Nissan Rogue.
Now a Nissan Rogue is by no means a small vehicle but it is a lot smaller than a van so as you might imagine packing such a large cargo into such a modest space takes a certain kind of mind.
Now, I myself am used to such an endeavor as every night after the show we would get to work packing up the van and be on our merry way. And up until this point, I considered myself something of a Tetris aficionado of sorts.
But boy, would I tell you that as we began packing that Nissan Rogue with all that stuff after perhaps 10 minutes or so I realized that I was in the presence of a master.
My uncle Rob was packing and unpacking and repacking from every angle that you could and could not imagine
and just as the sun began to set, we had said our sad goodbyes to the van, packed everything we could have wanted and ourselves into a space that should never have been able to hold that much stuff and people and were on our way back to a more refined civilization. And we owe it all to Uncle Rob.
Uncle rob
Uncle rob
You drove slow on the highways
Cuz you knew it'd keep us calm
Uncle Rob… Uncle Rob… Uncle Rob
You gave us all a place where we could make sense of it all
Uncle Rob… Uncle Rob... Uncle Rob…
You got me back behind the wheel before I'd lost to shock
You drove me to the weed store even though it's not your job
And took us to the airport early morning to send us off
Uncle Rob
Uncle Rob
Ah!
Thanks bud
