in Concord, Massachusetts in late January 2024, Yung Thorns broke their ankle while filming a showdown between their character (a varsity girls' soccer coach for the Lunenpervert Blue Knights, modeled after Toshiba // NORM's real-life side job) and a bear that escaped from jail. this album tells the non-linear story of Thorns's injury, surgery, and recovery, weaving in details about a moneygrubbing doctor, coke sans sucre, Scott Botti's experiences growing up near the tougher sections of Lowell, the Newton, MA teachers' strike, and spring swimming.
