Creating their own brand of indie pop, the Dream Poppies have been described as saccharine piss-take power pop, edgy loud-quiet girly guitar pop and catchy melodic fuzz pop.
The band formed in Brisbane in October 1990 and released 6 EPs and an album and featured on many Australian compilation CDs. The band played major music festivals including SXSW 1997 and a show at CBGBs in NYC.
